Terms.

Galley is a book-typesetting tool by Publikable. Using it means agreeing to the terms below — written to be read, not skimmed past.
Questions: studio@publikable.com.
Your book is yours
Copyright in your manuscript, your images, and your finished files remains entirely yours. Galley claims no licence over your work and takes no copy of it — the tool runs in your browser and your book never reaches our servers unless you personally attach it to a quote request. You are responsible for having the rights to the material you typeset (your text, your images, your fonts for cover artwork).
The free tool, as-is
Galley is provided free of charge and “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We work hard to make the output press-accurate, but we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Because your book lives only in your browser’s storage, clearing browser data erases it — export your work regularly as your own backup. We are not liable for work lost from your own device.
Print is your final call
Galley produces print-ready files to the specifications you choose, but every printer is different. Approving the final proof with your printer — trim, bleed, colour, paper — is your responsibility. Order a physical proof before a print run.
Studio services
Requesting a quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Studio work (design, typesetting help, print management) is quoted per book and governed by the written quote you accept — nothing is owed until you accept one.
Canva connection
The cover flow can connect to your Canva account, at your choice. Canva is a separate service under its own terms; we are not responsible for Canva’s availability or output, and some Canva features (such as high-resolution export of Pro elements) may require your own Canva subscription. You can revoke Galley’s access in your Canva settings at any time.
Fair use of the service
Don’t use Galley’s forms and connections to send spam or malware, probe or overload the service, or violate someone else’s rights. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic. Use Galley only for lawful material.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Publikable is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the free tool — including lost profits, lost data on your own device, or the cost of a print run you approved. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights. Paid studio engagements carry their own agreed terms.
Changes and law
We may update these terms as Galley grows; the date at the top moves when we do, and continued use after a change means acceptance. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
